Lake Placid E-Learning Lab Donor Privacy Policy
All information concerning prospective donors, including names and addresses, nature and value of estates, amounts of provisions, etc., will be kept strictly confidential by staff, volunteers, and members of the Board of Trustees and may not be released to any other party without the donor's permission, except by court order. Donors must grant permission to Lake Placid E-Learning Lab to use selective information for purposes of referrals, testimonials, or examples.
Donor requests to remain anonymous, to have their names removed from mailing lists, or to restrict solicitations will be honored.
Lake Placid E-Learning Lab does not trade, share, or sell a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. In the unlikely event that LPELL should ever desire to share donor information, it will not do so without first obtaining specific permissions from the donor(s) concerned.

Miss Gill’s passion for education has spanned 52 years, with most of them at Lake Placid High School. She also taught at Lake Placid Christian and Lakeview Christian School. Her courses include Spanish and Social Studies. She also is an adjunct instructor at South Florida State College, teaching Humanities online. Miss Gill looks forward to using her public school retirement years to help further student’s education in Highlands county as the Co-founder and teacher at Lake Placid E– Learning Lab.
Ms. Tucker is the LPELL Co-founder and has incorporated many professional and life skills in her philosophy of education. She has been a preschool teacher, and an elementary, and middle school educator for over 19 years. She believes in developing “Life-long Learners” in her students. With a BA in Elementary Education from Madonna University, Ms. Tucker has been certified in All Subjects K-8; English, Early Childhood, Social Studies, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. She completed her work toward her Master’s degree through Liberty University in Pastoral Counseling and Christian Education.
IEPs’ and 504's are my passion and I love being able to work closely with my parents and students to find the best course of action to push them forward in their education. This position allows me to be creative and think outside the box. Which is exactly what some of us need. The freedom to “throw out the book” and do something different is what it’s all about.

Hi! I’m Mrs. Sharon Lenhardt. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. I also have a Master’s in Education and am Gifted and ESOL Endorsed. This is my second year teaching in Lake Placid, but I have been teaching in Orlando for over 27 years! I have worked with ESE students, gifted students, highly-gifted students and K-8th grade. I believe all students can learn and with the proper guidance and the development of intrinsic motivation, they can thrive!

I went to West Virginia University earning a BA and MS in Economics. I taught at Lake Placid High School in the mathematics department for 34 years before retirement. Now I am pleased to volunteer at LPELL.

Introducing “Our Resource Officer” Beaux. At 125lbs., Beaux is from Louisiana and was rescued as a pup. He loves coming to school and spending time with our students. Last year, two students shared that having Officer Beaux at school helped them “learn so much more!” But don’t be fooled by the sweet face, you mess with “his family” you are sure to be put in your place!

Miss Gill
Hello, there! My name is Esther Gill. I am the Co-Founder of LPELL and I also teach several classes here at the school. Here at LPELL, I teach the middle and high school Social Studies and Spanish. I also teach an online Humanities college course in my free time. I have been teaching since 1970. Throughout my teaching career I have traveled to Europe 32 times, and many times I have traveled with some of my students. My most favorite thing about being a teacher is being able to share my knowledge with all my students.

Hello! I am the LPELL Principal. I also teach 4th & 5th grade ELA, as well as some other classes with my best boy, Beaux by my side.
I am the proud owner of 3 dogs, 5 cats, and 8 horses! You can imagine that I keep my hands full!
When I’m not at the school or tending to my animals, I enjoy arts & crafts and camping.
Amongst other things, I love to participate in swimming, kayaking and canoeing. I love to be outdoors!
If I ever found myself on a deserted island, I would bring a hatchet, a sleeping bag and a big yacht!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Jillie. I was introduced to LPELL when my son attended this school before we moved to West Virginia. While my son was attending as a student, I was working the front desk as the school’s administrative assistant. Now in West Virginia, I still work the position remotely.
My life is WV has been a new amazing adventure! My husband and I have taken to enjoying the wildlife by fishing and riding back roads in my Bronco. When I’m not working or enjoying the outdoors with my husband, you’ll find me with my two little boys that are still at home. My boys are in football, wrestling and soccer and I love being at every game/tournament to support them! I am also newly a grandma to a sweet kitten named Sophie (my daughter made me write this).

I preach this to my kids all the time. Sometimes you just need to get back up and try again! You will succeed!!
I have a 5 year old cockapoo named Henry.
If I were on a stranded island, I would need bug spray and my husband! He can do anything!!

If I could live in any decade, I would go back to the 2000's to raise my kids again. I cherish those memories.

Hello! My name is Ms. Stockton. This is my first year teaching at LPELL and I teach the 6th/7th/8th grade science and consumer math.
The best thing about being a teacher is being able to watch my students grow and succeed! If there’s any wisdom that I could pass onto my students, it would be to always try your best and you will succeed!
Outside of school, my hobbies include art, reading and playing video games. I love to spend my time drawing and painting. And there is no one better to spend my free time with than my 7 dogs and 4 cats! They have my whole heart.

2nd - 12th graders are invited to be part of our "Classical" Academy. That means face-to-face and hands-on classes. The LPELL Academy focuses on a blend of core textbook classes with an online class or two utilizing the Florida Virtual School (FLVS)**. Our certified staff and FLVS classes creates a flexible, individualized programs and encourages each student to succeed. Our established and celebrated program operates from the hours of 7:45am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday. Our goal has ALWAYS been to provide a well-rounded program where students become independent life-long learners. We don’t want to teach them what to think, but how to think! Our school prides itself on our accommodations and consideration for students with IEP/504 plans.

Florida Virtual School includes core courses, electives, honors, advanced placement, and career and technical education.

Snack Bar
Every student has access to our school snack bar! They will have a student account that all snacks will be charged to, and families are responsible for supplying a weekly snack bar fund (via our debit system) for their student.
Pizza Wednesday
Wednesday we order pizza for every class. The students let us know that morning how many slices they want and it is charged to their student account.
*Allergy alert! All parents will be required to provide a list of their student’s allergies, in order for us to protect your child!
Sack Lunch
When students break for lunch, they will have access to the snack bar. Otherwise, they will need to bring their own lunches to school.
Holiday Meals
Holiday festivities! We love to offer an abundance of holiday related potlucks/parties for our students. Families are always welcome!

Training Requirement: All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required as a condition of employment to complete training on these standards of ethical conduct.
Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel and Administrators: All
instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student.
Examples of misconduct include but are not limited to: obscene language, drug and
alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or
testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.
Reports of misconduct of employees should be made to: Ms. Tucker, Principal (863)464-9502.
Reports of misconduct committed by administrators should be made to: Miss Gill, Co-Founder (863)840-1213.
Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student are posted in the Staff Common Areas that include the “kitchen” and restrooms and on our Website at: www.lakeplacide-learninglab.com .

Reporting Child Abuse, Abandonment or Neglect: All employees and agents have an affirmative duty to report all actual or suspected cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Call 1-800-96-ABUSE or report online at: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/abuse/report/ .
Signs of Physical Abuse: The child may have unexplained bruises, welts, cuts, or
other injuries; broken bones; burns; or fluid coming from the ear(s). A child experiencing physical abuse may seem withdrawn or depressed, seem afraid to go home or may run away, shy away from physical contact, be aggressive, or wear inappropriate clothing to hide injuries.
Signs of Sexual Abuse: The child may have torn, stained or bloody underwear, trouble walking or sitting, pain or itching in genital area, or a sexually transmitted disease. A child experiencing sexual abuse may have unusual knowledge of sex or act seductively, fear a particular person, seem withdrawn or depressed, gain or lose weight suddenly, shy away from physical contact, or run away from home.
Signs of Neglect: The child may have unattended medical needs, little or no supervision at home, poor hygiene, or appear underweight. A child experiencing neglect may be frequently tired or hungry, steal food, or appear overly needy for adult attention.
Patterns of Abuse: Serious abuse usually involves a combination of factors. While a single sign may not be significant, a pattern of physical or behavioral signs is a serious indicator and should be reported.

Liability Protections: Any person, official, or institution participating in good faith in any act authorized or required by law or reporting in good faith any instance of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect to the department or any law enforcement agency, shall be immune from any civil or criminal liability which might otherwise result by reason of such action. (F.S. 39.203)
An employer who discloses information about a former or current employee to a prospective employer of the former or current employee upon request of the prospective employer or of the former or current employee is immune from civil liability for such disclosure or it’s consequences unless it is shown by clear and convincing evidence that the information disclosed by the former or current employer was knowingly false or violated any civil right of the former or current employee protected under F.S. Chapter 760. (F.S. 768.095)
